Mark Swanson

Mark Swanson - Graduate Student

Mark is a fourth-year Ph.D. student. He received his Bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and gained his museum ethos and many of his research interests at the Field Museum. Mark is investigating the evolution of mammalian gut microbiomes, while also contributing toward the goals of our VertLife project.




Jon Nations

Jon Nations - Graduate Student

Jon is a third-year Ph.D. student supported by a prestigious fellowship from NSF. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Alaska. He is interested in the evolution of morphological traits associated with climbing behavior. See his recent paper on climbing ability in voles in J. Mamm.



Varshith Chakrapani

Varshith Chakrapani - Graduate Student

Varshith has just begun his studies in our PhD program. He received his Bachelor's degree from Anna University and is currently exploring his interests in mammalian phylogenomics.









Kendall Gaudin

Kendall Gaudin - Undergraduate Student

Kendall is a junior in Biochemistry. She is helping us generate DNA sequence data from museum specimens and has become a real wizard in the lab.












Paul Videau

Paul Videau - Undergraduate Student

Paul is a junior in Biology. He is assisting with our curatorial work and developing his skills in the genetics lab.
