Bird Literature Database bonus project
Goal: to make you aware of the electronic databases that provide windows into the technical literature in ornithology.
Assignment: for 5 bonus points, pick one bird species from your first set of Louisiana birds from lab and use its scientific name to compile a list of up to 20 citations of research papers that deal with that species from each of the three following sources (for a maximum of 60 citations). Overlap in citations among the three databases is OK. Grab (copy/paste or whatever) the basic citations* for these papers, and email them to me in electonic form (in any format you want -- format not important except Do not send .docx files -- convert to .doc or another format that I can read.
If you cannot log on, go through LSU Libraries web page and access the databases through that site.
* basic citation = author[s], year, paper title, journal, volume, pages, i.e., the same information that appears in the "Literature Cited/Reference" section of a technical paper. NOT the complete paper nor even the abstract.
