Howard & Moore "Complete Checklist of the Birds of the World"
Edward C. Dickinson has assembled a team to revise the Howard & Moore's (1991) classification of birds of the world. The first revision (Dickinson 2003) * is currently undergoing a major overhaul with an expanded team that includes Remsen as a co-editor. The mission is to provide a phylogenetic classification of birds of the world, based on the most recent data, down to the level of subspecies.
The size of this project makes errors inevitable. We maintain a Corrigenda (click for pdf) for Dickinson (2003). Please point out errors as you see them (allow beware that the ranges of New World birds are already undergoing a total overhaul for the next edition).
