No Haji,
It's not a myth! I have one seven feet
tall in full bloom right now in one
of the gardens I care for, and the hummers are on it all day long.
For us in Southern California, it blooms almost all year if given
a protected,
south-facing exposure, with plenty of direct sun. For me, it
is one of the
mainstays of the hummingbird gardens.

HUMNETters,
I just sent a message with a photo of the
flowers of marmalade bush
(Streptosolen jamesonii) to Hummingbirdgarden-pix@yahoogroups.com.
It's
obviously a classic hummingbird flower, and where I live it's
one of
longest-blooming shrubs that feeds hummers for months. I'll try
to get a
shot of the whole plant when I am working at that garden later
this week.
